Case study: active-safety - Zyber

CASE STUDY:

Active Safety.

Active Safety's Digital Transformation with Shopify Plus B2B and NetSuite.

The Brief.

Active Safety, a 100% New Zealand-owned company, has grown from a small shop in Silverdale to a nationwide expert team serving diverse industries such as forestry, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, and healthcare. Their commitment to exceptional service and speedy delivery has driven their expansion over 15 years. With an evolving range of services, Active Safety has become a single solution provider for uniform branding, equipment hire & servicing, and product & uniform management systems.

Challenge

Active Safety required a robust eCommerce platform capable of managing its complex B2B needs, such as per-customer pricing, varied payment terms, and inventory management across multiple locations.

Crucially, they needed seamless integration with their existing NetSuite ERP system to ensure efficient order processing, pricing, product management, inventory control across multiple stores, and CRM integration. This integration also needed to support the sales team in receiving hiring quotes alongside online B2B sales.

Our Approach.

Zyber partnered with Active Safety to re-platform their website to Shopify Plus, leveraging the newly available B2B functionalities. The project included:

Shopify Plus B2B Implementation:

Migrated from the SuiteCommerce to Shopify Plus.

Utilised Shopify's B2B capabilities to handle complex pricing models, customer-specific pricing, and payment terms.

Implemented the Enterprise theme for an enhanced user experience and fast turn around with minimal technical debt.

NetSuite Integration:

Collaborating with a third party we completed to seamlessly integrate Shopify Plus with NetSuite, automating data flow for orders, pricing, products, images, and inventory.

Enabled real-time inventory management across multiple locations, ensuring accurate stock levels and routing orders based on customer locations and behaviour.

Per location / Per SKU Variant:

Zyber developed a custom application that provides users with the ability to see accurate stock availability for all product variants at each of Active Safety's four locations.
This application allows users to see if products are in stock in their region with estimated delivery times and or click-and-collect options.

Low Code Solution:

We employed a low-code approach to minimise technical debt and enable Active Safety's team to manage the site independently without the need to go to a developer for small changes.

The Results.

Project Outcomes.

Enhanced B2B Experience: Active Safety's new Shopify Plus site provides a seamless B2B experience, showcasing GST inclusive and exclusive pricing, handling complex per-customer pricing, and different payment terms.

Operational Efficiency: The integration with NetSuite ensures streamlined operations, with automatic updates for orders, pricing, products, variants and inventory.

With Shopify having an annual R&D budget of $1.5 billion dollars it is no surprise that smaller eCommerce platforms find it difficult to compete, this helps large B2B business to jump ship over to Shopify Plus to use all the latest features helping B2B ecommerce businesses grow.
